Thesis Title: Gender, population policies and reproductive health NGOs in Mexico
About
My interests are multiple but they are all related to gender topics. I developed interrogations about philanthropy in the US and in Mexico, especially the positions and roles of great American Foundations in the funding process of Mexican NGOs and the Latin American feminist movement. This topic is highly connected to a second one which is the Population Control Movement and his great transformation in “Sexual and Reproductive Health” Movement. These research topics could be subsumed under a broader concern for birth control and the globalization of gender policies. Latin American feminisms and especially the Mexican movements related to reproductive health and rights are also topics of great importance to me.
These interests are interrogating both charity and social interventions related to the State. Philanthropy and justification of international intervention are closely related.
New social dynamics in Latin America are amongst my pivotal actual interests regarding the evolution of my scientific interrogations. I am currently working in a Mexican NGO and involved in sharing-experience process with Mexican anthropologists in the State of Veracruz in which I guide and participate to specific topics related to French theory and Anthropology.
Anthropology of gender, sexual and reproductive rights, masculinities and feminism are currently my main topics as a researcher.
